Hey friends and family! Thanks for praying us through today.
Kelly is out of surgery!
We met with Dr. Staley (our surgeon) around 7:30, and I, Anne, and Chuck got to see Kelly starting at 8:30 (Praise God!). Special shout out to my folks who hung in there with us all day and who will be picking Maddie up in the morning. All in all, it was around 13 hours between Kelly and my "see you later" this morning and getting to reconnect. It was grueling.
Dr. Staley was pleased with what they were able to accomplish today - we're grateful for that and are going to unpack more of the outcome and findings this week in recovery but for now, objective #1 is post-op care for Kelly. I was so eager to get to see her.
Please pray specifically for Kelly's pain to be manageable (even unnoticeable - as crazy as that sounds to pray for, God can do it). So far, it has been managed well. The room we're in is nice and we are hopeful for rest.
I'm sure more posts will come this week. For now, we love you and thank you for the prayers so far and the prayers that will come!

PS - Maddie has had a wonderful day with some of our dear friends. She's amazing. I am so proud of her (and so is Kelly!)

God you are always good and we thank you that you are so faithful to us. I pray that you would lessen and even remove the pain from Kelly post surgery. Praise God for a good report! Praying Kelly’s pain will be manageable and she will be able to rest comfortably, as she recovers. Praying for you as you care for her.
