And we're back!Â
Hey everyone. What a disappointment that Posthope is down. Honestly, it has made us realize how sweet of an online community we have of family, friends, and friends of friends. People who have continuously prayed with and for us over the last year and a half.
With it being down & out, we have decided to continue to update you all here on this website. I believe there is a 'subscribe' feature -- so feel free to sign up for updates.
Current update -- I am currently 30,000 feet in the air, on my way to Houston, for a nice little 6am CT scan tomorrow morning. (Pro to this is that my 4 hour fast will be from 2-6am. no problem.)
We ended up delaying my CT Scan to attend a funeral in Raleigh for Elizabeth Alexander. -- My sisters friend-- become my friend, who died after 20 months of enduring with colon cancer. I am so thankful we were able to go to grieve with their community. (And it was nice to spend time with my sister and her family - we had a great, sad, happy, beautiful, terrible dinner with John and Meredith and it was a gift to just be together in this weird season!) But if you could - PLEASE pray for Elizabeth's husband, Graham, as well as their 3 kids, family, and friends.
Whew. Life. It is hard and good. I remember a friend describing to me that life was filled with so many tensions. Sadness and joy. Faith and Doubt. Joy and Sorrow. The list can go on.
Where our family is right now? Somewhere in the middle. Enjoying the daily joys of family, vacation, meaningful work, and communion with God. And also -- getting on flights to Houston for CT Scans for Stage IV Appendix Cancer.
If you all would do a few things as you read this:
Pray for our time here. For the last almost 21 months, my heart has sat heavy for my surgeon Dr. Helmink . I will see her monday. Pray for opportunity for love and the chance to share our life with her, and vice versa! (Jonathan flies in Sunday night- and Maddie will be in great care of "aunt beanie and uncle barley"
Pray for good news with continued shrinkage and stability -- or even better, no cancer!
Pray that all the Posthope entries are recovered for the many families who hold onto these as a legacy and testament to God's kindness.
Going forward Jonathan and I plan to update here, so feel free to share this website as you wish! With love, Kelly & JonathanÂ
PS - for those who want to get caught up on the "full story", here are the PostHope journals documenting the beginning of our story to now.
